Jess Walters was in her first year at The Central School of Speech and Drama when she discovered that her dream of becoming an actress was over. Jess was not upset! She never thought she could be a writer, but wrote because she loved it. She was very naughty at school. She attended writing workshops at the Royal Court, where her first play 'Cockroach, Who?' was produced. Jess never looked back.
Jess' most recent work includes the sell out UB40 musical, 'Promises and Lies' which premiered at the Birmingham Rep. She is recognised as one of Britain's most exciting young writers, having been commissioned at the Royal Court, Hampstead Theatre and The Birmingham Rep. Television work includes three series of 'As If' for Channel 4/Carnival, and most recently an episode of Almost Famous for Kudos / E4.
